‘Bridge o’ Sighs’ takes his first sojourn to where the air is thin and his graduation prospects are thinner.
In a shock policy reversal this morning, the sneaky spry Sir David Baulcombe, new Master of Trinity College, has decided to lift the college’s archaic ban on nightclimbing. He cited the catastrophic toll the ban had taken on the field of mountaineering, noting that the highest mountain climbed has remained stuck at 8848m since his childhood some years ago.
College officials also hope that the relaxation of restrictions will allow ‘social climbing’, a favourite pastime of many Trinity students, to flourish.
Sir David did accept that the way ahead would not be easy, in fact it would be very hard. In order to comply with frivolous modern accessibility standards, the college will need to install countless ramps on its roofs — a feat that would, as usual, require coating the entirety of the college in scaffolding for the entirety of the academic year.
